HEAT TREATMENT
Carolina Inspection Services (CIS) heat treatment program was established to meet the growing needs of wood packaging producers and lumber producers who must conform to international standards for Wood Packaging Material (WPM) in accordance with International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), and American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) Guidelines.
The Objective of CIS is to assist WPM and Lumber producers in their transition to IPPC Guidelines for International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15).
Phytosanitary measures are aimed at reducing the risk of introducing and/or the spread of quarantined pests associated with solid wood packaging material, including dunnage, made from coniferous and non-coniferous green lumber.
